It’s been a great year for Never Sit Still, with our four entries including the following projects:
1. Adobe Make It 2017 opening titles
2. Lighting the Sails for Vivid Festival
3. Node Fest ident
4. Alcohol and Drug Foundation brand story animation
Node Fest is Australia’s first dedicated motion event, which brings the best in Australian motion graphics and animation together to share their work, industry insights and creative inspiration with peers and up and comers.
Our Director, Mike Tosetto, has been invited as one of the speakers at this year’s conference. Node Fest is not to be missed for anyone involved in motion design and will be taking place in Melbourne on Friday, November 18.
Founded in 2010, The Design Conference is a world class design, art and business event featuring a curated selection of talks, breakouts, exhibitions, night events and workshops.
With an international speaker line up, The Design Conference 2017 sold out well in advance of the event.
Our Director, Mike Tosetto, was honoured to be invited as one of the guest speakers, and he also ran a motion design workshop as part of the three day conference.
Every year Sydney is transformed into a magical world for the annual Vivid Festival. The highlight of the event is Lighting the Sails, when the Sydney Opera House is transformed into a huge canvas for incredible light projections.
Never Sit Still worked together with Luxx, who were extremely privileged to be invited by Spinifex Group to contribute visuals for the 2017 event, Audio Creatures. We worked closely with the awe-inspiring Sydney Director Ash Bolland, paired with tailor-made soundscapes by Brazil’s foremost sound designer Amon Tobin.
The Wild is the first six months of a two-year creative career pathway for Foundry students. Each week The Wild hosted national and global guest speakers who are leaders in their creative fields.
Our Director, Mike Tosetto, was invited to be one of the guest speakers, sharing his insights with students at both the Hobart and Launceston campuses.
Following two years on the Council for the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA), our Director, Mike Tosetto, has been appointed the role of Chair for AGDA NSW. Mike will be working alongside Mark Stott from Common, the new Vice Chair.
AGDA is the peak national organisation representing the Australian communication design industry. We champion excellence in Australian design, setting and upholding world leading standards in strategic thinking, professional practice, education and craft. AGDA operates through the guidance of a Board of Directors supported by Regional Branch Councils and Sub-branch Councils.
Mike is looking forward to a year of exciting events and initiatives for the industry, kicking things off with Ian Anderson, founder of the infamous UK design studio, The Designers Republic.
We’re extremely proud to announce that we picked up a Distinction and Judges Choice at the 2016 AGDA Awards.
Both awards were given to the opening titles made in collaboration with Luxx for the Adobe Make It conference. Shoutout to Annabel Dundas from Tilt Creative for awarding this project as her Judges Choice.
Eight of our entries made it as finalists, which was a huge achievement for Never Sit Still.
Where To From Here is an AGDA event where senior designers pair up with a younger designer they have mentored to address some of the most commonly asked questions about getting started in the industry.
Mike Tosetto and Alex Barnet from Never Sit Still paired up to speak at the inaugural evening, covering what is expected from a CV and portfolio, freelancing versus studio work, how to keep busy in-between college and a job, along with advice on internships.
The AGDA Design Awards are about recognising and documenting the best work happening in Australia at any given time.
Each year, a select group of highly regarded creatives are invited to assess the entries, curating the best work across a wide range of disciplines.
Our Director, Mike Tosetto, was honoured to be included as one of the judges for the Motion category of the 2016 AGDA Awards.
